Another debate topic: Ascended Masters

I have known of them for quite a while, and occassionally read channelings from them. Last night, I was out with a fellow lightwarrior here locally for quite a few hours. I resonate with the archangels. I said to my friend something along these lines: "So many lightworkers follow and believe in the Ascended Masters. Why is it that the thought of them makes me cringe?" My friend, who is beyond gifted, said to me, "because they are dark". And he went on to tell me how they use sweet words to lull people in, which only fueled what I'm always preaching to lightworkers about discernment. But nevertheless, I found his words on this a bit shocking. So, debate time. Other thoughts on the Ascended Masters?
